Early Years Remote Learning
Welcome to our Early Years webpage. The guidance, ideas and activities given here will help guide you to provide effective learning experiences for your child at home The following do not have to be undertaken but may help give ideas when building a structure to your home learning routine. However it cannot be underestimated the value of playing board games, reading books, singing songs, helping to prepare food or using a variety of materials such as recycled junk to create pictures and models in the home. For ideas, have a look at Play Scotland for some family in-door fun from making your own playdough to conducting a floating and sinking experiment in a tub.
The free Early Years Activity Book, available to download from TTS, also gives a huge range of activities to try out.
Songs and rhymes are a great way to have fun with your child – and they’re also one of the best things you can do to support their development. Dip in to the Scottish Book Trust's online library to find songs and rhymes to suit different moods or times of day. Try a range of songs and rhymes and discover your child's favourites!
Join Cosmic Kids for some online yoga, mindfulness and relaxation. Great for burning off some energy or encouraging a bit of focus and quiet time.
