Welcome to P3/4 with Mrs Moncrieff.
Happy New Year Primary 3/4!
Welcome back to school and to online learning. I’m sad that we won’t be able to explore our learning together in person, but I am very much looking forward to the new challenge of online learning and live lessons on Teams with you all! Remember we are all in this together and will work together and support and respect each other during Home Learning and beyond!.
Keep doing the best that you can do and I will ‘see’ you all soon!
In Room 6 we have been exploring poetry and have created super paintings and pictures that represent our writing. We have a weekly VCOP C=captain to support our writing skills and are learning different about reading and spelling strategies also.
Our class novel is the Butterfly Lion by Michael Morpurgo, which is an exciting story that provides lots talking and listening opportunities.
We are learning about fractions and enjoy applying our times tables skills to problem solve the different values of the numerator and denominator. We played What’s the time Mr Wolf using o’clock, quarter and half past to demonstrate our understanding of time.
We are developing our resilience and have created a Well and Resilience alphabet book which we add to every week.
In PE and outdoor learning we are doing cross country and hockey skills.
Our class monitors have been excellent ambassadors and very much take full responsibility of their role.
We have worked together as a team to create our Class Charter. Our weekly goals ensure we are a Rights Respecting Class and School. We have a circle of success and proud cloud and a weekly recognition board to celebrate our success.
In class, we are enjoying reading Mr Stink. We are learning different reading and comprehension strategies to develop and extend our skills in reading.
We have been developing our number sense by exploring multiplication and we now understand that repeated addition and arrays are linked to our times tables.
As part of Health and Wellbeing, we have explored and discussed viruses. We have learned how to keep ourselves safe. We created our own Growth Mindset Superheroes to demonstrate our own powers to enable us to be successful learners.
